OK I get it. You’ve been dreaming of this day your whole life. You’ve met the man of your dreams and you are ready to walk down the aisle. The dress HAS to be perfect.

I’ve been there.

Before my wedding, I met my sister in New York in an effort to find my perfect wedding dress. For three days, we traipsed all over the city from designer shop to designer shop. Last stop Barneys. Aside from my husband to be, I truly fell in love that day in Barneys…with Vera Wang. I had set my sights on a modern simple sheath dress. This dress was not. This dress was a full strapless ball gown with gorgeous sequins along the chest and lace train. I actually cried when I tried it on. The dress was $8,000 (roughly £5,000).

I loved getting married in that Vera Wang dress. Felt like a princess.

Five years later, that Vera Wang dress has been gathering dust in my closet and I’ve often thought of the many things I could have purchased with £5,000.  Luxury holidays, the latest Prada bag every year, pair after pair of Jimmy Choos.  Oh if only….

So, my advice for what it’s worth is to consider SimplyBridal. I came across this company scouring through one of my favourite wedding blogs a few days ago and was absolutely blown away. Firstly, the dresses are absolutely gorgeous – the choice of style exhaustive.  The dresses are created with outstanding quality fabrics, materials and are made to measure and sold online.  The best bit?  All dresses are sold for under $600 (that’s right ladies less than £400).  I haven’t inquired myself whether the dresses can be shipped to the UK but can’t imagine there would be a problem.

The woman designing the dresses has designed for BCBG MAXAZRIA in Los Angeles and Suzi Chin for Maggie Boutique in New York and has over 12 years’ experience in the fashion industry.  She also holds a BFA in Apparel Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
